HOW TO TREAT SKIN FUNGAL INFECTION INFECTION AT HOME TINEA RINGWORM REMEDIES HOW TO CURE

Tinea is the name of a group of diseases caused by a fungus. Types of tinea include ringworm, athlete’s foot and jock itch. These infections are usually not serious, but they can be uncomfortable. You can get them by touching an infected person, from damp surfaces such as shower floors, or even from a pet.

Symptoms depend on the affected area of the body:

Ringworm is a red skin rash that forms a ring around normal-looking skin. A worm doesn’t cause it.
Scalp ringworm causes itchy, red patches on your head. It can leave bald spots. It usually affects children.

“Fungal Skin Infection of Many Colors” (Tinea Versicolor) | Pathogenesis, Symptoms and Treatment

skin treatment No Comments »

Lesson on the fungal skin infection known as Tinea versicolor (“Variety of colors”). Tinea versicolor is a common skin infection due to the fungus Malassezia furfur. Infection with this fungus leads to characteristic skin changes with “a variety of colors”, including hypopigmentation, hyperpigmentation, and erythematous changes. This fungus causes these changes by producing a compound that affects the melanin producing cells in our body. In the lesson, we discuss many of the risk factors that cause this condition along with the specific details of the pathogenesis, and how we go about diagnosing and treating this condition.
